Where is Book Three?

2026 Update

Unfortunately, there has been no news on Book 3, Circle of Ruin. I am rethinking options to get this final in the series out to readers.

I have gone into a little more detail in the April Newsletter, in case you missed it.

Where is Book Three in the Amassia Series?

We have all been waiting for this book — you, me, the editors, vendors, readers, writers and critics alike. The sad-face news is that the publishing house that took on this project in 2019 is not going forward at this time. This may be partly because Curse of Shadows (book #2) didn’t perform well. The reviews were excellent, even receiving a Starred Review from the coveted School Library Journal. But sales did not meet expectations. Partly also, the editor at that time did not respond positively to the manuscript.

Because I have received no news for over a year, I think it is a case of ‘no news means no’…

The happy-face side is that I am brainstorming ways to make the book available to keen readers through self-publishing or perhaps a serialised web novel. I have a few author friends who are going in these directions, and I plan to tap their genius soon.

I want to see the story through, so please keep the faith that it will happen!

2024 Update

If you are wondering where book #3 of the Amassia series Circle of Ruin is, we have a bit of news and a sneak peek at the cover art. Just know that, Yes! It will be back up for pre-order soon in Audio, print and eBook, with a confirmed release date! ASAP!,

Meanwhile, I have completed a fresh structural edit and have shot that back to my agent. She’s going to read the current iteration first before putting it into the hands of the editor, mainly to ensure the most timely progress to print.

Again, the multiple unexpected rescheduling issue seem to be contributing factors to the delay (but I’m not going to focus on that). I promise I’ll let you know the great news and date when it arrives.
