In Cambodia, the hour, day, month or year of the Pig is called Koar. Art on Pinterest – luynake

Pig Month – Nov 7 – Dec 7 2026

Pig Hour is always 9 pm to 11 pm (known as Hài Shí 亥时 in traditional Chinese Timekeeping)

Pig Days in the Pig Month 2026

  • 12 November 2026 (Earth Pig Day / Jǐ Hài)
  • 24 November 2026 (Metal Pig Day / Gēng Hài)
  • 6 December 2026 (Water Pig Day / Rén Hài) [1]

From hot Fire Earth Dog to cooling Wet Earth Pig

Let’s look at it from a TCM health standpoint first:

In the Year of the Fire Horse, the elemental weather has been hot, searing and baked to a crisp. If you tend to run warm anyway, with strong yang fire, it can be exhausting, and there are still 3 months to go. That’s why the Pig month is so incredibly refreshing; instead of the flashing sparks of Dog Month in Fire Horse Year, we have the gentle mist of rain over the marshlands, Pig Month, to moisten, cool and soften underfoot.

It’s bringing a whole new kind of relief.

If you’ve used the Dog Month to pause and find peace and ease, the inflammatory nature may have been slightly subdued. Fewer symptoms like insomnia, skin breakouts, hot flashes or irritability. But if you have pushed ahead via work/play or adventure without rest, symptoms might have gotten stronger, more pronounced.

But as of November 7th, the Pig Month brings the Ren Water (壬) hidden stem. This is an oceanic, surging Yang Water that cools the Bing (Yang Fire) as well as the San He partial Fire Frame of the past Dog Month.

For excess-heat individuals, this brings immediate relief.

The frantic, scattering energy of Fire holds still for a bit and finds containment. Physical symptoms of heat (acid reflux, high blood pressure, red eyes, night sweats, hot palms, hot feet, hot flashes) begin to calm. It’s a palpable shift.

But this transition will challenge digestion for anyone prone to excess dampness or Spleen Qi deficiency.

Where the Dog month was bone-dry Earth, which easily absorbs moisture, the Pig month brings with it Ji Earth (己) as the main stem sitting on top of Hai Water Pig (亥).

Think of it as an estuary, mudflats, or “wet soil.”

Those with existing dampness may experience increased fatigue, brain fog, physical heaviness, bloating, loose stools, or water retention. The lack of active Fire means the body’s internal metabolism is less equipped to “cook” and transform fluids.

If you have internal dampness or excess yin

If you have internal dampness or excess Yin, the strategy flips from “clearing heat” to “transforming dampness and protecting the centre.” Here is how:

  • Keep the Centre of your body Warm: Because the external environment is suddenly cold and damp (regardless of the hemispheric season), the digestive system needs support. Avoid raw, cold, or overly greasy foods. Introduce aromatic, warming herbs like ginger, cardamom, or orange peel to help the Spleen process the moisture.
  • Circulate the Fluids: Since the Pig represents moving water, gentle, consistent movement (Qi Gong, Yin Yoga, Tai Chi, walking) will help prevent the Water of this season from stagnating.

Understanding Yin and Yang Energy

If you enjoy Fantasy K-dramas, or think you might like a look-see, the storytelling in The East Palace brings a whole new depth to Yin and Yang. The series is stunningly beautiful, even when horrific! (There are some jump-scares… at least I flew three feet off the cushion!)

Hajiman, The East Palace is a true masterpiece of exploration into the nature of excess Yin and excess Yang. Let me know what you think!

🐗 The Direct Interactions

  • The Tiger (The Soulmate): The Pig and Tiger form a 6-Harmony combination. Tigers will feel a wave of supportive, nourishing Wood energy. It’s an excellent month for you to plan, create, and heal any Liver stagnation issues.
  • The Snake (The Direct Clash): The Snake sits directly opposite the Pig. This creates a volatile Fire-Water clash. Snakes out there can expect sudden changes, reversals, travel, or a shake-up in routine. Evoke flexibility—go with the flow!
  • The Pig (The Self-Penalty): When a Pig enters a Pig month, it triggers a Self-Penalty. This usually manifests as overthinking, self-sabotage, or avoidance through overindulgence. If you feel this mental energy welling up, get out of your head, avoid emotional eating (dampness!), and stay grounded in practical routine.

🔥 The Fire Triplicity Frame (Feeling the Shift)

  • The Horse & Dog: Along with Tiger, these signs have been running hot – hot – hot all year. In the Pig month, you’ll feel a cooling, welcome exhale. The constant heat calms down, making it the perfect time to rest, recover from burnout, and focus on deep sleep.

🌊 The Water & Wood Creators (catching the Wave)

  • The Rabbit & Goat: Together with the Pig, these signs form the powerfully creative Wood Triplicity/Frame. You might feel a burst of creative, growth-oriented energy. It’s a fantastic month to start new projects, write, film, edit, score, dance, perform or focus on internal personal development.
  • The Rat & Ox: As fellow winter signs (true in either hemisphere), you will welcome the Water energy, but you might be at the highest risk for excess cold and dampness. (Depending on the rest of your BaZi Chart.) If so, eat warming foods, keep moving, stay cozy, and seek out sunlight.

The Bigger Picture

Did you know you have four Earthly Branch animals in your chart sitting under 4 Heavenly Stems or Elements? While your birth year represents your external world, check your birth Month to see how this Pig energy affects your career, or your birth Hour to see how it touches your inner thoughts!

Mercury & Venus Direct

By mid Nov, 13th & 14th, Mercury and Venus turn direct in motion. Wheels previously stuck in the mud gain traction. Note: Anyone with a personal planet, Ascendant or MC between 28° and up to 6° of a sign, any sign, buckle up. The Sagittarius Sun opposite the Gemini Full Moon conjunct Uranus on the 24th is going to tip the applecart, and then some. It’s the perfect ‘catastrophe’ to catapult your career/mission/profession in a new creative direction. If you are unsure of your signs and degrees, check in here with your Western Astrology chart handy, and we’ll spot them for you.

A quick and easy hack to tell if your Western Astrology Sun sign is involved with the full moon without looking at your chart is to NOTE the DAY of your birth.(The sun moves about 1 degree a day and is fairly predictable, year in and year out.) In this case, if it is between the 19th and 29th of any month, you are connected. This holds true for your synastry with others too. The closer the days are to each other (any month) the stronger the link. Just keep it to about 5 days either side. In the case of the upcoming full moon, that’s 5 degrees either side of the 24th.

Whatever comes up on the vibrant Full Moon, if you have spent time in quiet reflection and are ready to move forward with the Pig’s more gentle, cooling pace, changes come for the better!

Let me know how you go!
